Dear Members,

Health and safety is everyone’s right and responsibility. You must take the necessary measures to ensure your own health, safety and physical well-being and take measures not to endanger the health, safety or physical well-being of other persons.

It’s important no matter where you are shooting, whether it be in a remote location, such as the middle of a forest or in a vacant building, that the following minimums for washrooms are respected:

  • Facilities are always easily accessible from the rest areas, base camp, hold areas, change rooms, make-up/hair area and of course from the set
  • Sufficient facilities for the number of people on set
  • Private stalls
  • Clean with regular maintenance to disinfect regularly throughout the day, as per CNESST
  • Reasonable temperature
  • Equipped with a sink, running water, soap, paper towels for proper hand washing

In addition, Performers must be provided with a change area that is clean, private and with a reasonable temperature.

If sanitary facilities do not respect these minimums, please signal it to production right away, as they will correct it.

TIP:  Feeling nervous about being the person who signals a problem to production?

Feel free to report it as a group, performers and crew can come together, so you don’t have to feel alone when signaling an issue to production. You can always call ACTRA, we are here to help.

It is important to advise ACTRA -even if it is after work hours and even if the issue was corrected on set.

Don’t hesitate to contact us any time, you can always submit an anonymous report.

For more information, please consult the CNESST website as well as the Collective Agreements.
