Revised ACTRA Montreal Best Practices Guideline – August 25, 2020

As portions of the industry now look to resume production, particularly in the area of voice work, we issue the following statement to clarify ACTRA’s position on returning to work.

Productions under ACTRA Montreal’s jurisdiction are PERMITTED at this time, provided all of the following criteria have been met:

  1. https://actramontreal.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/ACTRA-Montreal-Best-Practices-Guideline_August-25-2020.pdfhttps://actramontreal.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/ACTRA-Montreal-Best-Practices-Guideline_August-25-2020.pdfThe Producer has obtained “essential service-business” confirmation from the Government of Quebec and such confirmation has been provided to ACTRA;
  2. All Federal, Provincial, and Municipal health and safety guidelines are respected, and
  3. The Producer agrees to follow health and safety measures contained in the ACTRA Montreal Statement regarding the engagement of Performers during the COVID-19 crisis and Best Practices Guideline.

 ACTRA may revise these conditions once the Government of Quebec allows for a return to work in all sectors, or as needed.

Please note as well that many Engagers, Casting Directors, and other industry partners have voiced their support and understanding for performers who choose to refuse auditions and/or work in these very difficult circumstances.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact an ACTRA Business Representative.
