This session of Dubbing Essentials is geared toward diverse and BIPOC performers to both introduce them to, and equip them with, the necessary rythmo-band skills and technique in order to help them book work in the Dubbing arena.  There is a current and growing need for authentic casting in dubbing and this workshop aims to train and ready our up-and-coming ACTRA voice performers to fill this need.

Students will be expected to enter into this workshop with a certain standard and degree of both talent and professionalism. The workshop’s instructor will guide them through the various techniques, symbols, attributes, and workings of the rythmo-band, “character consistency” within the rythmo-band and dubbing process, as well as introducing them to the technical aspect of the recording experience.

  • Become familiar with the specific requirements and techniques needed for live-action dubbing.
  • Become proficient in the use of dubbing platforms such as Rhythmo- band, DubStudio, and ProTools.
  • Have a good knowledge of the dubbing industry as a whole, including an understanding of how to seek out work opportunities in the field.
