The dubbing industry in Quebec is in need of authentic mature voices. This workshop is geared towards ‘’Mature” adult members of ACTRA Montreal who wish to improve their current dubbing skills and technique and increase their chances of being hired in this growing arena. In this workshop, performers will be introduced to the various techniques, symbols, attributes, and workings of the rythmo-band, in a safe and laid-back learning environment.

Learning objectives

  • Teach participants key dubbing techniques.
  • Instruct and guide participants in the formulation and rooting of their dubbed characters and teach them the rudiments of the “DubStudio” rythmo band to bring their character(s) to fruition in the recording studio.
  • Offer participants the opportunity to work with a highly experienced dubbing director and learn how to receive and interpret feedback on their vocal performance and dubbing technique regarding their “character choices” and mastery of the rythmo band.
  • Provide participants with the fundamental knowledge needed to audition for a dubbing project – with current industry standards and requirements at the forefront of their audition.
