Dubbing for Animation workshop

This Dubbing for Animation workshop is aimed towards ACTRA members who are looking to work to expand their skills to work in the creative world of Dubbing for Animation. The workshop will equipe you with tools and technics to sharpen your skills, improve your audition game and meet the current industry standards to improve your chances of getting hired.
Learning objectives
- Provide the student with an understanding as to how and why utilizing the rythmo-band to their best advantage can be one of the most effective tools both in both the animation voice-performer’s dubbing auditioning and in-studio recording process.
- Teach students techniques for utilizing their various “animated character” strengths to their maximum at the microphone – where it counts the most.
- Provide students with the opportunity to work with a highly experienced animation voice-director and learn how to receive and interpret voice-performance and dubbing technique feedback regarding their “character choices” and mastery of the rythmo-band.
- Provide students with the fundamental knowledge required to audition for a dubbed animation project – with today’s industry standards and requirements at the forefront of their audition.
Application process
- Submission of your most recent resume, detailing voice-related/acting experience.
- Submission of a recent headshot
- Submission of a video (60-90 seconds long maximum) explaining to the workshop’s selection committee exactly “why” the applicant wants to be involved in animation voice-performance as well as “why” they feel they are a good candidate for the “ACTRA Montreal’s Dubbing For Animation” workshop.
- Let us know when submitting your application, if there are any additional barriers to access that you would like us to know about for this workshop. This will not affect your eligibility.

- Age range: 18+
- Proficiency in English
- Students need to be comfortable reading English cursive.
- Must be an active member of ACTRA
